it’s thrilling. addictive. nothing compares to the sensation of it coursing through your veins as you jolt yourself into a perilous race between life and death. it’s the high that most will never stop chasing; and the most sought after drug in Miami. while other cities are taken over by petty crimes and the distribution of crack or psychadelics, this exuberant night city finds itself in a different lane by hooking its sharp teeth into its civilians and dragging them into its underground street racing culture.

outsiders view Miami as a fun escape from reality and revel in the deplorable behavior that accompanies the racing word, but those notoriously involved know that the crash back to reality is potentially more devastating than the high. still they return to the city’s neon lit streets every night, hoping to race with death and win.police compete against time and well-fueled vehicles to undercover the secrets of the racing world that connect to the city’s biggest crime bosses and fatalities, but this drug and the identity of its users is its best kept secret. from Miami’s inception, corruption overtook its roots making it fertile ground for a lawless racing culture to flourish. those that were vulnerable fell into its wickedness and sold their souls to the fantasy it promised, only to find that it wouldn’t deliver and their lives were no longer theirs. racers and attendees often betted more than they had, creating an opportunity for loan sharks and crime lords to take advantage of the seeds that were being sowed.

when speaking of Miami's underground street racing scene, one can never exclude well-known crews such as THE PHANTOM ANGELS and THE UNWANTED. while in their respective peaks back in 2010, these notorious crews were rumored to have their hands in various money laundering and drug trafficking schemes as it allowed them the real estate and power to push the racing world forward. their names went on to ring in neighboring states, gaining the attention of other crews that would drive into the city for a chance to race up against one of the fastest drivers.the influx of out-of-state racers allowed a major bust to happen back in 2013 and the crews were dissembled, along with the culture. most ended up in prison or faced an early death, but the echoes of tires screeching across cement still lingered around the city...years later, newcomers began flooding the scene in hopes of building a suitable crew to lead to the top of the rankings in the newly revived underground world of street racing, seeing it as an opportunity now that the ones who used to run the streets are nowhere to be found. the crown was for the taking and greed became more important than the loyalty these racers had to each other.betrayal, the untimely death of their leader, and disputes over code led to the most well-known new age crew splitting, birthing the SANGRE NUEVA and ACES OF IRA. the personal feud between the two top crews created a larger divide within the city and bred a new unstable ground for law enforcement as territories were marked and alliances formed..those that say blood is thicker than water were never prepared to stumble across the crude oil used to create engine fuels and the exhilaration it provides the ones that chase the rush of racing.
